Join us in Spokane for an exciting three-stop Farm Walk as part of our annual Tilth Conference! We will be kicking off the tour at the Scale House Market, taking a ride to Vets on the Farm, and finishing up at Casa Cano Farms. Read on to learn more about these innovative and inspiring hosts!

The Scale House Market is an innovative community space located in the heart of Spokane County, that has recently opened as a permanent, year-round farmers market and agricultural hub. Vets on the Farm is designed for Veterans seeking a new mission and a way to transition back into civilian life through careers in agriculture, farming, ranching, or other conservation-based industries. Casa Cano Farms is a vegetable and livestock farm that focuses on the health of their farm ecosystem. They incorporate pasture-raised livestock and intensive minimal-till vegetable production, resulting in more nutritious and better tasting food.

This Farm Walk is funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Transition to Organic Partnership Program (TOPP).

WSU Food Systems Program and Tilth Alliance have been collaboratively organizing Farm Walks since 2004. These farmer-to-farmer educational opportunities are hosted by organic, sustainable, and innovative farm and food businesses throughout Washington State. We aim to highlight our farmer hosts and their unique expertise and experiences. We reach new, beginning, and existing farmers seeking education, advice, and mentorship from these experienced farmers, as well as agricultural and food systems professionals.
