Our Work

Gardeners

We provide educational experiences and resources that help people grow, source, cook, and enjoy food in a way that doesn’t degrade the planet and reduces waste.

Good Shepherd Center Community Learning Garden

Classes

Gain new skills and knowledge through our hands-on, virtual and in-person classes! We offer a variety of classes on topics like vegetable gardening, food preservation and cooking, permaculture, and urban livestock. We emphasize experiential learning and strive to give people a chance to learn from one another, practice their skills, and gain hands-on experience whenever possible.

Natural Yard Care

Tilth Alliance offers free natural yard care information to the community. We help you focus on gardening to enhance and protect habitat, garden safely where soil contamination is a concern; create compost; and grow chemical-free edible plants to enjoy. We also provide education and activities through natural yard care classes; Dirt Alert safe gardening practices; and culturally-relevant gardening.

The Garden Hotline

The Garden Hotline has been providing guidance to home gardeners and landscape professionals for over 25 years. They educate the public on ways to reduce waste, conserve water and other natural resources, and minimize the use of chemicals in your garden, landscape and yard, while creating a healthier environment and community. Ask them your gardening questions!
