Rainier Beach Urban Farm & Wetlands

Rainier Beach Urban Farm & Wetlands is a city park where we come together to grow food, foster community, and work to restore the wetlands through powerful partnerships.

The idea for this urban farm originated in 2009 with a group of community residents and activists who wished to increase access to affordable quality food sources in the Rainier Beach community and Southeast Seattle. The farm is a 10-acre site dedicated to organic food production and distribution, environmental education, and wetland restoration. The land is owned by Seattle Parks and Recreation, and co-operated by Tilth Alliance and the Friends of Rainier Beach Urban Farm and Wetlands.

Bring your family and explore the farm, harvest from the designated free community U-pick or stop by our whole-diet farm stand! You can also sign-up online for gardening and cooking classes, community kitchen dinner events and programs for youth and families, including camps, after-school programs, school field trips and more.

This farm is on the ancestral lands of the Duwamish people. It is stewarded by community volunteers, students, the Friends of Rainier Beach Urban Farm & Wetlands and Tilth Alliance staff. Food grown at the farm is shared with community members through two free U-pick areas, monthly community kitchen dinners, a seasonal farm stand and a neighborhood community supported agriculture (CSA) program.
