Class Details
Your team’s involvement supports our mission to build a sustainable, healthy, and equitable food future. All revenue generated from class fees helps us provide organic gardening education to communities throughout the Puget Sound region.
- Length: 2 hours
- Availability: Tuesday-Friday; 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
- Group Size: Up to 20 participants
- Locations: Classes can be hosted at either of our office locations:
- Good Shepherd Center in Wallingford (4649 Sunnyside Ave N #100, Seattle, WA 98103)
- Rainier Beach Urban Farm & Wetlands (5513 S Cloverdale St, Seattle, WA 98118)

Class Topics
Intro to Container Gardening
Learn how to grow an abundant and healthy edible garden in containers! In this introductory workshop, we’ll share information about how to choose soil, containers and plants – and we’ll offer tips for ongoing care and maintenance. Activities will include planting seeds in small pots to take home.
Growing & Using Culinary Herbs
Enhance your cooking and your health with herbs! This class will discuss how to grow and care for culinary herbs, while also sharing strategies for harvesting and utilizing them in the kitchen. Activities will include preparing an herbal infusion to take home.
Fermentation Basics
Learn how to make your own fermented foods at home! This introductory workshop will guide you through the basics of fermenting vegetables for preservation, flavor and nutritional benefits. Activities will include preparing a jar of sauerkraut or kimchi to take home.
Class Fee
Below are the class fees based on the size of your company:
- Large Company (50+ employees) – $2,000
- Small Company (fewer than 49 employees) – $1,500
