Good Food Bag Packing Volunteer

Join us in packing highly nutritious, locally grown produce into bags for our South Seattle Community! Recipients of bags packed during these shifts can include Seattle Public Schools preschoolers and their families through the Seattle Farm to Preschool Program, community sliding scale members, East African Senior Center, mutual aid groups, and more! We will primarily be standing for the packing shifts, with some bending, twisting, and lifting up to 40 lbs, based on personal choice and comfort. Packing shifts tend to be somewhat talkative and upbeat, with opportunities to learn about our priority farmers and local food system. Due to the dynamic packing environment and equipment use (pallets and pallet jacks), only volunteers 14 and older may participate for safety reasons.
