Interns hold pivotal roles at Tilth Alliance contributing their time and skills while gaining valuable work experience with a successful nonprofit.

An internship is a structured work-related learning experience with an emphasis on on-the-job training for individuals who wish to develop hands-on work experience in a certain field. Interns typically commit to 10 or more hours per week for a fixed time commitment of 3 months or more. Interns receive training, professional experience, and the opportunity to develop new skills and take on leadership roles. Interns receive supervision and feedback from a professional with expertise/ background in the field.

Master Composter / Sustainability Stewards Program Intern

The Master Composter / Sustainability Stewards (MC/SS) program is a key partner in Seattle Public Utilities’ waste reduction and recycling efforts. Managed by Tilth Alliance, we help city residents with a wide range of activities including building worm bins, recycling food and yard waste at their homes, preventing and reducing waste, building healthy urban soils, and supporting thriving landscapes throughout the city.

The Master Composter / Sustainability Stewards Program intern will provide general support across MC/SS program operations, with a focus on community outreach, data management, volunteer coordination, and communications.
