Meet Your Chef: Devon Capocelli of Mezzanotte

Chef Devon Capocelli was born and raised in Queens, New York, surrounded by the flavors and traditions of his Italian family, with roots in Puglia and Napoli. His culinary path crystallized when his family moved to Fort Smith, Arkansas during his high school years — there, he started cooking at his uncle’s Italian restaurant and discovered what would become his life’s work.
That dedication led him to Alma, the School of Italian Culinary Arts in Parma — one of the world’s most respected culinary institutions, in the heart of Italy’s “Food Valley.” After returning to the U.S., he earned his Culinary Arts Associate Degree from Seattle Central College and built his career across several notable Seattle Italian kitchens, including four years with Ethan Stowell Restaurants, further refining his skills in both traditional and contemporary Italian cuisine.
“Mezzanotte is the perfect fit for me,” Devon says. “The atmosphere, food, and vibe are 100% my style.” Guests can expect heartfelt cooking, bold flavors, and dishes that reflect a chef whose story is woven into every plate.
