This summer, we’re bringing our community together for something special. The Seasonal Table celebrates the incredible bounty grown right here in our region. Few chefs embody that spirit of community and connection more than Tina Fahnbulleh of Gold Coast Kitchen, whose cooking weaves together the vibrant traditions of West Africa with the fresh flavors of the Pacific Northwest.

Meet Your Chef: Tina Fahnbulleh of Gold Coast Kitchen

“Cooking will always be home for me,” says Tina Fahnbulleh, owner and chef of Gold Coast Kitchen. Her grandmothers taught her by putting her to work in their kitchens until the motions became muscle memory — by age four, they trusted her with cooking the rice, the highest honor in a West African household.
Tina grew up between Liberia and Ghana, and when she moved to Seattle in 2016, the familiar flavors of West African cuisine were nowhere to be found. So she did what felt most natural: she started cooking. Dinner parties grew into larger gatherings, and from those tables, Gold Coast Kitchen was born. Today, her cooking blends the traditions she grew up with and the ingredients of the Pacific Northwest, creating food made — in her own words — “for celebration and connection.”
At a dinner series built around community and the people who grow what we eat, Tina’s story and her food feel right at home.
