Description

Are you curious about how to grow and use medicinal plants in your own garden? Join us for an evening with Melissa Meyer of Rose Island Farm to learn about growing herbs and traditional foods to support your health and well-being.

In this workshop, we’ll explore:

  • Basics of plant medicine/herbalism
  • Examples of herbs that grow well in our region
  • Ideas for incorporating medicinal plants into the garden
  • Recipes and suggestions for using these plants

This online session will include a live, interactive lecture, a slideshow presentation and time for questions with the instructor. We will be using Zoom for this class, which you can use on your computer or phone.

*Note: This class will also be offered as in-person session at Rose Island Farm in Tacoma on Saturday, June 25.

Melissa Meyer
Melissa Meyer is stewarding one-acre Rose Island Farm in Puyallup territory, also known as Tacoma. Melissa is Tsimshian First Nation from Lax Kwalaams, BC. She is an herbalist and Traditional Foods Educator. Melissa is currently a Traditional Plant Practitioner serving at the Nisqually tribe to help them set up their Traditional Plant Medicine program.
