Join Tilth Alliance, the Friends of Rainier Beach Urban Farm and Wetlands, the Garden Hotline, and East African Senior Meals for a delightful and delicious afternoon! Bring your extra seeds if you’ve got them, your garden questions, and your appetite. This is a free, family friendly event open to all.

The Rainier Beach Community Kitchen will be serving a plant-based meal prepared by our joyfully renowned East African chefs, Jamenesh and Amanuel, from 1-2:30 p.m. The meal will not only highlight their amazing food culture, but it will highlight plants and herbs you can grow right here in the Pacific Northwest. We’re even letting you bring home the recipes, plus you might find some seeds to grow parts of the meal from scratch!

The Seed Swap tables will have all kinds of seeds for your edible, medicinal and floral gardens. We welcome you to add your labeled extra seeds to the mix and take lots home too. We’ll have a cute craft table set up, lots of educational information to share and the Garden Hotline will be there to answer all your gardening questions right on the spot.
