Did you know that some plants grow better together? Improve the health and productivity of your garden by choosing plants that work together as companions, rather than compete for resources. This class provides an introduction to the many ways that you can combine plants to maximize your harvest and make the most of your space. In this class we will discuss examples of companion planting, inter-planting and polyculture.
Learn about:
- companion planting and different types of plant relationships
- incorporating perennial plants into your annual food garden
- the permaculture concept of “plant guilds”
This in-person workshop will take place indoors, with a combination of show-and-tell, lecture and mapping activities. Class size is limited to 15 people, and participants will recieve a detailed outline with recommended resources.
