Preserving Your Garden
Description
Most gardeners love the process of planning their garden. And folks who preserve food love using garden/farm fresh produce. But we often forget to incorporate our food preservation goals into our garden planning to ensure that we grow enough food to put up for the off season.
In this class we will discuss:
- The many types of food preservation
- What types of preservation best fit your lifestyle
- How to determine how much you need to grow to stock your larder
- Equipment and materials needed to stock your garden and larder
This in-person class will include lecture, group discussions, and hands-on activities. Please bring a list of your favorite preserved foods, and a list of your favorite seasonal produce that you wish you could eat and cook with year round. Class size is limited to 15 people, and we will be following current public health recommendations. Please plan to wear a mask and dress for the weather.
