Description

Learn how to pickle any kind of veggie to preserve seasonal bounty. Join our Adult Education Team for a fun & educational pop-up stand at the last Farm Stand of the year at Rainier Beach Urban Farm & Wetlands.

Here’s how it will work:

  • We will provide jars, brine and seasonings
  • You can purchase veggies at the Farm Stand or use your Good Food Bag produce
  • We’ll share information and resources to make your own jar of pickles.
  • You can create your own jar to take home along with recipes to make more

Please note that this offering is a drop-in, donation-based experience. You can stop by anytime during the Farm Stand hours, 2-6pm, and make pickles with us. Pre-registration is not required, but will help us to prepare materials.

About the Instructors

Alex Soleil
Alexandria shares their passion for urban gardening by teaching classes and supporting the Soil and Water Stewardship program as part of the Community Education Team at Tilth Alliance. They are certified in Permaculture Design, completed the Master Composter Sustainability Steward program, and have enjoyed collaborating in Seattle’s community garden spaces for over a decade.
Marni Sorin
Marni has worked as a farmer, a gardener, and an environmental educator over the last 15 years – spending time with plants and people outside is what brings her joy. In her role at Tilth Alliance, she manages the adult education program, teaches gardening classes, and cares for the Good Shepherd Center Learning Garden, along with our community volunteers.
