Description

Are you curious about bioremediation practices that you can use to support healthy communities? Join us for this class with Jade Frolic and Mack Kleiva of Metamimicry and learn about this method of using biological organisms to clean the environment. Metamimicry has a special focus of growing mushrooms for bioremediation and in this class we will create some mushroom filters for you to take home and apply at your house or in your broader community.

In this workshop you will:

  • Review the basics of bioremediation
  • Explore grassroots-level myco-remediation installation designs and methods
  • Discuss ways we can implement homegrown pollution solutions
  • Put together a mushroom filter to take home!

This in-person session will take place indoors and outdoors and will include lecture, discussion, and a mushroom filter demonstration. Class size is limited to 20 people and we will be following the current public health recommendations – please dress for the weather.
