Junior Soil and Water Stewards

Description
To be a steward is to understand that there are infinite threads connecting us all. This spring break, join us at Rainier Beach Urban Farm and Wetlands to learn about the importance of caring for soil, plants, wildlife, water, and our communities. From sustainable gardening to exploring soil and discovering the wetlands ecosystem, we will foster wonder about the different components of stewarding our environment. Throughout this program, we will develop our reciprocal relationship with the land, learn about plant and animal knowledge, and practice caring for the land as the land cares for us.
This program mirrors the topics covered in Tilth Alliance’s Soil & Water Stewards program, adapted for youth by our team. Our daily activities will explore soil, regenerative farming, green cleaning, interactive wetland models, native planting and more!
