Description

Want to create garden beds that retain moisture, improve fertility, sequester carbon, and incorporate woody yard debris? Join us as Sarah Wagstaff of SUOT Farm and Flowers shares her experience with the sustainable gardening practice of hugelkultur! This German method of gardening mimics the natural forest ecosystem and turns garden debris into fertilizer for future plants.

In this class, we’ll discuss:

  • Hügelkultur basics and benefits
  • Garden bed development over time
  • Growing fruit, vegetables, herbs and ornamental plants with hügelkultur

This workshop will include a live, interactive presentation with home garden examples and time for questions and answers with the instructor. It is designed for all levels of experience. We will be using Zoom for this class, which you can use on your computer or phone.
