Home Composting with Food Waste Workshop
Description
Did you know that using compost in the garden can help to improve your soil fertility, promote a healthy soil ecosystem, reduce erosion, hold moisture and improve drainage? Are you curious about how you can easily make your own compost at home using your food waste? Join us for an opportunity to learn about home composting and get started soon!
In this class, we will:
- Go over the basics of food waste composting
- Explore accessible home systems such as worm bins, food digesters and bokashi
- Discuss common home composting issues and how to solve them
This in-person workshop will include a conversational lecture, a garden tour, and time for questions with the instructor. Please come prepared for the weather and ready to dig into the compost bins. Class size is limited to 20 participants and we will be following all current public health recommendations.
