Description

It may be early in the gardening season, but there are still things you can grow at this time of year and extend your harvest through the cooler months! In this workshop, you’ll learn useful techniques for successfully growing food and caring for the soil during the cooler months in our region.

In this in-person class we will:

  • Learn about crops that perform best in the Seattle area during the cooler weather, and cover when and how to plant them
  • Explore multiple types of cool season gardening strategies; including growing in containers, raised beds, and in-ground gardens
  • Discuss accessible season-extension techniques and activities that you can put into practice right away

This in-person class will be both indoors and outdoors, with a combination of conversational lecture, show and tell, and a garden tour. Class size is limited to about 15 people, and we will be following current public health recommendations. Please plan to dress for the weather.
