Description

Are you curious about bioremediation practices that you can use to support healthy communities? Join us for this class with Jade Frolic and Mack Kleiva of Metamimicry to learn about a low-tech method of growing Garden Giant mushrooms that will help the soil, your garden, and taste super good too. Metamimicry has a special focus of growing mushrooms for bioremediation and in this class we will create Garden Giant kits for you to take home and apply at your garden, a woodchip patch, or in your broader community.

In this workshop you will:

  • Review the basics of bioremediation
  • Explore grassroots-level myco-remediation installation designs and methods
  • Discuss ways we can implement homegrown pollution solutions
  • Get your hands on the Garden Giant mushroom and make some inoculated cardboard to take home!

This in-person session will take place indoors and outdoors and will include lecture, discussion, and hands-on activities. Class size is limited to 20 people and we will be following the current public health recommendations – please dress for the weather.
