Ever wonder how to grow your own food? Ever think about the importance of fresh food? Learn it all in this hands-on camp, where we will explore the potential a seed holds to the beauty of a bountiful harvest! We will:

  • Learn to grow your own food in urban spaces including container gardens, plant propagation, microgreens, and more
  • Start herb, veggie, and flower seeds to take home!
  • Learn how growing food is a superpower while considering access and equity to fresh produce in our communities
  • Practice the art and learn the history of seed saving
  • Explore soil, compost, and worms to understand their connection to food
  • Harvest mindfully and celebrate the harvest with fresh recipes
  • Tend to the garden that helps us grow nutritious and delicious food!

At Rainier Beach Urban Farm and Wetlands, we group by age (generally 6-8 and 9-11); however, this varies due to registration numbers and staff to camper ratios. We do our best to honor grouping requests for friends and siblings but cannot guarantee all requests.
