Global Cooking
Description
Calling all junior chefs! Let’s explore plant-based dishes from around the world while cooking with fresh ingredients from our garden.
This week, we will:
- Prepare delicious garden dishes, like fresh Vietnamese Spring Rolls, savory Filipino long beans, a flavorful Ethiopian stew and more!
- Grow our knowledge of cultures in our communities and around the world.
- Learn about Indigenous foodways of Coast Salish and Makah peoples, exploring foods like camas, blackberries and Makah potatoes.
- Use safe cooking techniques and practice chopping, slicing, grating, measuring and mixing.
- Tend to our growing crops, giving back to the garden who gives us so much!
- Reflect on the important role of food, cooking, farms and gardens.
- Increase kitchen confidence, expand our palates and have tons of fun!
Cooking camps are a smaller group size and have an additional cost for supplies. Dietary considerations and food allergies must be communicated in advance. Please be aware that our kitchen is a shared facility that uses nuts and other allergens.
