Description
Did you know that different kinds of plants grouped together can support one another to and help to provide food throughout the year? Plant guilds are a design tool that can help you maximize space and set your garden up for success. Whether you are growing annuals, perennials, or both, plant guilds can help you make decisions about what to plant, where and when.
In this class we’ll discuss:
- Strategies for companion planting
- Techniques to extend the harvest, such as succession sowing
- How to combine annual and perennial plants in the edible garden
This in-person workshop will take place indoors, with a combination of show-and-tell, lecture and mapping activities. The session will be in a room with an air filter and with windows and doors open for good ventilation. Class size is limited to about 15 people, and we will be following current public health recommendations.
