Gardening for Pizza
Description
This mid-winter break, treat your budding garden-to-table chef to a hands-on gardening and cooking experience! In this camp, students will learn what it takes to make a pizza from scratch all the way down to the soil that grows our food.
Our days will be spent exploring the intertwined worlds of culinary arts and gardening. We will get to know our ingredients – from how flour is made, to kneading pizza dough, to chopping veggies. Each day we will explore the rich stories behind these special ingredients. Students will learn what it’s like to plan and prepare for an early spring garden from our experts, from creating a garden map to starting seeds in a greenhouse.
Throughout the week, students will develop new skills and build confidence as young chefs and gardeners. On our final day, we invite families to join us from 2-3 p.m. for a celebratory pizza bake.
