Garden Planning 101

Looking forward to getting started in the garden this year, but wondering what to plant, when to plant it, and why? Learn how to make a thoughtful plan for your garden with this online, introductory class.

In this class, we will discuss:

  • Organic gardening basics
  • Seasonally appropriate crops
  • Creating a map and designing your garden
  • Helpful supplies and resources

This virtual class will feature a live, interactive lecture with slide show, and time for questions and answers with the instructor. A detailed outline with recommended resources will also be provided. We will be using Zoom for this class, which you can use on your computer or phone.

About the Instructor

Alex Soleil
Alexandria shares their passion for urban gardening by teaching classes and supporting the Soil and Water Stewardship program as part of the Community Education Team at Tilth Alliance. They are certified in Permaculture Design, completed the Master Composter Sustainability Steward program, and have enjoyed collaborating in Seattle’s community garden spaces for over a decade.
