Description

So you’ve planted a garden — now what? In exchange for our care and attention, gardens can offer us nourishment, beauty, and a space to connect with the natural world. As the summer season begins, you might be wondering how to encourage a healthy and bountiful garden throughout the year! In this maintenance-focused class we’ll discuss tips and techniques to help your plants, soil, and garden companions thrive.

In this online class, we will cover:

  • Fertilizing and watering
  • Natural pest management
  • Harvest techniques for various crops

This in-person class will be outdoors with hands-on activities. Class size is limited to 18 people, and we will be following current public health recommendations. Please dress for the weather and messy garden soil.

About the Instructor

Marni Sorin
Marni has worked as a farmer, a gardener, and an environmental educator over the last 15 years – spending time with plants and people outside is what brings her joy. In her role at Tilth Alliance, she manages the adult education program, teaches gardening classes, and cares for the Good Shepherd Center Learning Garden, along with our community volunteers.
