Let’s create delicious snacks from a winter garden favorite: kale! We’ll use seasonal produce to create our own garden cookbook while learning about where our food comes from. Together, we will:
- Harvest and prepare tasty snacks featuring kale, including a winter salad, green smoothie, kale chips and kale pesto pasta.
- Warm up with winter spices and winter teas.
- Create and design a cookbook to take home with recipes from our week together
- Learn where food comes from, observing plant lifecycles from seed to plate.
- Care for our garden, explore soil and compost, and meet our worm friends who help our garden grow.
- Go on a walking field trip to Green Lake to learn about our local ecosystem.
Cooking camps are a smaller group size and will include both outdoor and indoor activities. Please note that this camp ends at 1 p.m.
