Are you curious about how to grow an abundant, edible organic garden on a balcony, patio, or rooftop? Do you want to learn how to maximize a small-space or potentially expand your existing garden in a creative way? Join us for an in-depth workshop on container gardening!
This day-long, 4.5-hour session will cover all of the essential information for growing a beautiful and bountiful garden in containers. You’ll leave with the knowledge you need to confidently grow in containers and start your organic garden from seeds or starts.
Topics in this class include:
- What is organic gardening?
- Understanding your potting soil
- How to plan for your container garden
- Considerations for container garden maintenance
Activities in this class include:
- Preparing and refreshing soil in containers
- Planting seeds and transplants
- Discussion of continued care of plants
- Tour of garden exploring container growing techniques and practices
This in-person workshop will take place on Saturday, April 11th from 10 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., and will include a half hour break for lunch. Class will include a conversational lecture in the morning, followed up by an outdoor, hands-on lesson and tour in the garden in the afternoon.
Class size is limited to about 15 people, and we will be following current public health recommendations. Please dress for the weather and be prepared for outdoor activities.
