Do you love cooking with fresh herbs? Are you curious about how to preserve and make the most of herbs that you grow in your garden? Join us to see, feel, smell and taste a variety of culinary herbs that grow well in the Pacific Northwest. You’ll go home with everything you need to know to create or update your own herb garden at home.

Topics and activities in this class include:

  • Identifying annual and perennial herbs and their ideal growing conditions
  • Harvesting and ongoing maintenance tips
  • Ideas for using fresh and dry herbs in the kitchen, including samples to taste
  • Planting, harvesting and drying demonstrations

This in-person class will take place indoors and outdoors, with a combination of show-and-tell, conversational lecture and some taste testing. Class size is limited to about 15 people, and we will be following current public health recommendations. Participants will receive a reference guide for selecting, growing, and using herbs, including Tilth Alliance staff favorites, and a seed packet for your garden.
