Description
Late summer and early fall are great times to seed cover crops in the garden for the cool season! These special plants have many benefits to offer, and they can be confusing when you are beginning to incorporate them into your growing practices. Join us for a workshop to learn how to take advantage of this organic technique that helps to build fertility, provide habitat, and protect the soil!
We’ll discuss:
- Benefits of cover cropping
- Types of cover crops and their seasons
- How to apply and harvest crops
This in-person class will take place both indoors & outdoors, and include a conversational lecture with show & tell, a garden tour and hands-on activities. Class size is limited to about 15 people, and we will be following current public health recommendations. Please dress for the weather and messy garden soil.
