Come celebrate the amazing Rainier Beach Youth Stewards at the end of their summer session! Our Rainier Beach Youth Steward program provides job experience for individuals aged 14-18 through wetland restoration and farm education. They have dedicated their summer to growing, harvesting and now cooking together at the farm.
This is a free event, but RSVP is required below.
Dinner will feature dishes influenced by the seasonal harvest and the cultural backgrounds of our Youth Stewards, promising a delicious meal! We will have vegan, and gluten-free options available. Our focus will be on farm-grown produce and sustainable cooking methods, as well as sourcing from small, local BIPOC farms practicing organic methods.
In addition to dinner, the youth crew will be offering a farm tour and sharing their experiences from this summer with you. It’s sure to be a great time, so come and join us for an afternoon of good food, good company and fun!
What to Expect
- We will have limited indoor space alongside outdoor, covered seating areas. Please dress for the weather. If you plan to explore the farm, please wear proper footwear.
- This event is free to attend, and everyone is welcome. Invite friends and family to share a meal with us by registering for yourselves and others! We ask that each person registers so we can prepare the correct amount of food.
- On-site parking is available, but we encourage visitors to walk, bike, or take public transit, when possible. There is a bike rack on site, and we are a short walk from 7 and 106 buses and the light rail station.
Volunteer
These events are truly a community effort! We welcome support from food prep to set up/breakdown.
