Heart to Table is a community dinner of connection and care. Its intention is rooted in themes of our community abundance, food waste reduction, and shared storytelling.

Join Chef Liza and Community Kitchens on April 27 from 5–7 p.m. at Rainier Beach Urban Farm & Wetlands for an evening centered on nourishment of body, heart and spirit. This event is part of an ongoing effort to uplift local food systems, celebrate cultural heritage and cultivate belonging through sustainable shared meals that focus on food waste reduction.

Guests will enjoy a spring roll workshop, recipes to share, and a lovingly prepared dinner; thai kabocha red curry + tofu, lemongrass chicken and green beans, and mango sticky rice!

This is a free event, but RSVP is required below.

As always, we will make sure to have vegan and gluten-free options. We focus on sourcing ingredients for the meal from small, local BIPOC farms who use organic growing practices.

What to Expect

  • Following public health guidelines: masks are optional, and proof of vaccination is not required.
We will have limited indoor space alongside outdoor, covered seating areas. Please dress for the weather. If you plan to explore the farm, please wear proper footwear.
  • Everyone is welcome. Invite friends and family to share a meal with us by registering for
yourselves and others! We ask that each person register so we can prepare the correct
    amount of food.
  • On-site parking is available, but we encourage visitors to walk, bike, or take public
transit, when possible. There is a bike rack on site, and we are a short walk from 7 and
106 buses and the light rail station.

Please email Maggie Rickman, the Community Kitchens Project Manager, if you have any special requests or questions about this meal/the Community Kitchen program.
