Bundle Dying & Eco-Printing
Description
Long before synthetic dyes were created, all of our pigments were naturally sourced from plants and animals around us. Join Emily Tzeng of Local Color Farm & Fiber, to learn how to capture the blooms in your garden with simple and intuitive natural dye techniques of bundle dyeing and eco printing. These techniques provide endless ways for you to create unique fabrics and transform your garments into something new! Come away from this workshop with a cotton bandana and a silk scarf and a list of plants to try.
In this workshop, you’ll learn:
- How to plan a natural dye garden
- How to prepare your fabrics for best results
- Where to source materials and fabrics
This in-person class will take place primarily outdoors and will include a conversational lecture, garden tour and hands-on activities. Class size is limited to 15 people, and we will be following current public health recommendations. Please bring a mask, and dress for an outdoor tour as well as garden and kitchen activities.
*Class cost includes $25 materials fee for dye supplies and fabric creations you’ll take home.
