Join us for our annual Bat Night, where we learn about the Bat Activity Trends (BAT) community science program with Woodland Park Zoo and Bats Northwest. This FREE educational event will feature bat-inspired snacks, BAT 101, and a nature walk to see these incredible creatures in action! ASL interpretation will be provided. Please RSVP below to attend.

• 6 p.m. — We will start with a family friendly activity.
• 6:30 p.m. — Educational talk on bats covering adaptations, behavior and biology.
• 7 p.m. — Instructions for the BAT community science project and a 30-minute bat observation.

We’ll be exploring the world of our local bats and the incredible adaptations that make them vital to our environment. The BAT program invites YOU to become a community scientist by observing bats right in your own neighborhood. Our goal is to collect data on bat sightings throughout Washington, and your participation makes a difference! Connecting with nature and observing local wildlife is not only educational, but also a wonderful way to appreciate and protect the environment around us.

We recommend wearing closed-toed shoes and having a long-sleeved shirt to cover up if it gets chilly at night. Please bring a headlamp and consider putting on bug spray if mosquitos like you.
