Art in the Garden: Drawing, Painting and Writing with Plants
Description
How do we bring more creativity into our everyday lives? It starts by paying attention, and the garden is the perfect spot to do just that. Join local artist Anna Brones for an art workshop that’s focused on tapping into our creativity and using various mediums as a tool for paying close attention to what’s happening around us in the natural world. We’ll combine drawing, painting, and writing as tools for cultivating a sense of presence.
This class will include:
- Exercises and prompts to help cultivate creative attention
- Introductory techniques for drawing and watercolor painting
- A mini “gallery show” at the end with work that we have produced during the workshop
This in-person workshop is perfect for anyone who needs a little creative inspiration or wants to hone in on tools to take their creative practice outside. There will be a combination of conversational lecture and garden-based activities of drawing, painting or writing. Class size is limited to about 15 people, and we will be following current public health recommendations. Please dress for the weather.
