Jade Monroe
Jade Monroe is the Food Waste Reduction Lead at the Washington State Department of Ecology in the Solid Waste Management program. She has a Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science in Natural Resource Management from North Dakota State University, where her research on resilient systems won local and international awards. Her work at Ecology is focused on implementing the Use Food Well Washington Plan, Washington’s roadmap to meet the 2030 food waste reduction goals. She is also engaged in regional food waste reduction through the Pacific Coast Food Waste Commitment. When not focused on food waste, Jade enjoys flying kites on the coast and playing music with her band in Tacoma, Washington.
