Antonio also conducts education, research, and consulting with the Urban Permaculture Institute. His most recent work focuses on translating global movements for agroecology and land reform to the US context. He co-facilitates the Agroecology Research-Action Collective, a collective of scholars working on issues of farm justice, food justice, food sovereignty, and agroecology in the North American/Turtle Island context. These engaged scholars commit to working within and alongside the social movements of farmers, urban gardeners, workers, organizers, land defenders, and advocates who are transforming our food and political systems towards justice, community nourishment, and ecological health. They seek to leverage institutional and personal resources to prioritize movement-relevant and partnership-based research and elevate the scientific validity and worth of knowledge created outside the academy to effect positive change.
