Chelsea Mitchell
Originally from the East Coast, Chelsea has been working in Washington for the last 7 years on issues related to aquatic toxicology and stormwater treatment using Green Stormwater Infrastructure. She is currently a PhD candidate at Washington State University in Puyallup working in the low impact development and aquatic toxicology labs. Her recent research has focused on evaluating novel bioretention amendments for treatment of organic and microbial pollutants, assessing the ability of permeable pavements to mitigate contaminants of emerging concern such as tire particles and 6PPD-quinone, and using molecular biomarkers in fish to evaluate stormwater treatment effectiveness.
