Carol Miles
Carol Miles is the Director of the Washington State University Northwest Washington Research
and Extension Center, is a Professor in the Department of Horticulture, and is a Horticulture
Specialist. Carol joined Washington State University in 1994 and specializes in vegetable
production especially new crops, new varieties, cider apple production, and organic and
sustainable production practices. Her current research program focuses on sweetpotato
production for northern climates and as a culturally relevant food crop, tea propagation, and
using soil-biodegradable plastic mulch for vegetable and fruit production. Carol has her M.S.
and Ph.D. in vegetable crops from Cornell University.
