Brenda Book

With the Washington State Department of Agriculture since 2002, Brenda Book leads the agency’s organic services and supports a team of dedicated certification experts. Brenda’s roots in agriculture began on her family’s third generation farm in central Iowa. Since 1996 she has been involved in the organic industry as farmer, researcher, retail produce manager, farmers market manager, and currently serves as Program Manager for the country’s oldest and largest state-run organic certification agency. In addition to managing the WSDA Organic Program, Brenda has served on numerous regional and national committees focused on food systems and organic production. Brenda and her multi-generational, multi-species family live, play, and grow food in beautiful Southwest Washington.
