We will dig into details about making direct-to-school sales work for you, such as meeting school nutrition department standards, understanding common vendor requirements, and approaching and establishing effective working relationships with school food buyers.

NCATTammy is a native Coloradoan who came to the National Center for Appropriate Technology via a long stint of farming and sustainable agriculture work in New York State and Arizona. At NCAT, Tammy works as an Agriculture Specialist with an emphasis on farm business planning, market gardening, and other horticultural topics. She manages Bringing the Farm to School which aims to build producer’s capacity to sell to schools through a cooperative agreement with the USDA Food and Nutrition Service. She lives in Belgrade, Montana and enjoys hiking and spending time managing her flower farm and homestead, Nana Louie Farm, in her spare time.
