Whether you’ve spent months mapping out your garden beds or are just beginning to explore urban agriculture, our carefully curated selection of organic and sustainable starts will help transform your growing vision into a thriving reality.

Mark your calendars for our March Edible Plant Sale: Saturday, March 15, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., at Rainier Beach Urban Farm & Wetlands (5513 S. Cloverdale St, Seattle 98118).

Your Garden Shopping List Starts Here

This year’s selection features an expertly curated variety of organic edible plants, each chosen to thrive in our unique Pacific Northwest climate. Highlights from this year’s collection include:

  • Early season champions: Frost-hardy peas, spinach, and lettuce varieties that can handle our spring weather swings.
  • Pacific Northwest adaptations: Northwest-bred varieties including Outredgeous and Flashy Butter Oak lettuce (Wild Garden Seed) and Oregon Giant snow pea (Oregon State University) that thrive in our maritime climate.
  • Kitchen garden essentials: An extensive herb collection, from classic culinary favorites to unique varieties that will elevate your cooking.
  • Heritage varieties: Time-tested heirloom plants that bring exceptional flavor to your garden like Calabrese broccoli, a tasty Italian-American heirloom from the 1800s; Early Wonder beet, a 1911 introduction; and Aisla Craig onion, an 1887 heirloom from Scotland.
  • Pollinators’ paradise: Edible flowers and companion plants that support beneficial insects and garden biodiversity.

Grow Your Garden Knowledge

One thing that sets our plant sale apart isn’t just the quality of our starts – it’s the wealth of knowledge you’ll gain. Our experienced educators and staff will be on-site to:
